The ASCE Family at UW Madison
Our chapter is a tight knit group of students with 20 officers and over 150 members. Check out the gallery below to see for yourself!
Student members of the UW Madison chapter hear from speakers at our bi-weekly meetings, attend professional events and conferences, and collaborate on projects and in competition. We are regularly involved with the ASCE Wisconsin Section and compete in the Great Lakes Conference Regional Competition every spring.
Volunteering and Outreach are integral parts of our chapter's operations. As civil engineers, we have a responsibility to the public to educate and protect both its people and environment. Our chapter is consistently involved in Science Olympiad with local middle and high schools, Adopt-a-Highway in Dane County, the Dane County Humane Society, Habitat for Humanity, Trick-or-Treat for Canned Goods and many other events.
We are proud to have a nationally ranked Concrete Canoe team as well as other nationally ranked organizations! The majority of our members are involved with at least one of the team, and all teams are financially independent with respect to their projects. However, ASCE organizes travel, lodging, and funding for Regionals and other conferences as well as organizing all events outside the teams' respective projects. To fund these endeavors, ASCE relies on support from alumni, corporate sponsors, and the Civil & Environmental Engineering Department. Visit the "Donate" tab to see how you can help!
